Durga Ashtami

Durga Ashtami, also known as Mahashtami, is one of the most significant and sacred days of the Navratri festival, dedicated to Goddess Durga. It falls on the eighth day (Ashtami) of Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Ashwin

Durga Ashtami celebrates the fierce and protective form of Maa Durga, especially her manifestation as Mahagauri, Chamunda, or Mahishasuramardini, the slayer of the demon Mahishasura. It is believed that on this day, the goddess appeared in her powerful warrior form to destroy evil and restore dharma.
