Maha Shivratri, meaning “The Great Night of Shiva,” is one of the most sacred Hindu festivals dedicated to Lord Shiva, the destroyer of evil and the transformer in the Holy Trinity (Trimurti). Celebrated annually on the 14th night of the dark fortnight in the month of Phalguna (February–March), Maha Shivratri symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, ignorance over knowledge, and devotion over desire.
This auspicious night is devoted to fasting, meditation, chanting, and worship, honoring Lord Shiva’s divine energy and cosmic power.
